The Sehgal lab studies the molecular and cellular basis of circadian rhythms and sleep. Using largely Drosophila, but also mammalian models, we seek to address questions such as -- how are 24h rhythms of behavior and physiology generated? What cause sleepiness? Why do we sleep?
